The great garden escape thenewtinsomerset has just relaunched for 2024. We were lucky enough to be invited last year and cannot recommend it highly enough. It is a VERY, VERY special day trip!
Travelling by 1st class rail from Paddington you arrive at The Newt having had the most delicious breakfast on board. There is so much to see and do when you arrive including guided tours, talks and tastings. The gardens are stunning, the cyder tasting is not to be missed, and you can even have a bit of retail therapy in the amazing deli & homeware shop.
The most delicious lunch is provided in the garden restaurant and on your return journey back to London you are given the yummiest afternoon tea.
A truly wonderful, spoiling day and a fabulous way to celebrate a birthday or special occasion with a friend or loved one.

Yesterday we celebrated my cousin’s birthday at @joiabattersea - every time I go to Battersea Power Station I’m totally blown away by it. It gets better each time. There’s so much to do there, fantastic shopping, places to eat and drink and the views from the top are incredible. The journey there by boat is pretty cool too!
PS How utterly adorable is baby Willow (my cousin’s baby) she beamed for the whole day. I just love her… Jamie looked pretty happy with her too!! 👶

INCREDIBLE!!!! Tonight we went on a date!! We had the most amazing Bangkok inspired supper on the roof top of 40greekstreet after backtoblackfilm at vue in Leicester Square - the food was outstanding (but if you like Thai be quick as it’s changes to Mexican on 1st May).
I’ve never been to Vue in LS before but it knocks the socks off our local cinema… the chairs are AMAZING and they RECLINE!!! They also serve Provence Rose!!! We were off to a good start.
Back to black… I’m not going to say much except WATCH IT!!! I cried pretty much all the way through… and afterwards… so, so, so bloody good and just so incredibly sad. It will go down in history… just like Amy. An absolute must watch… just go!

Are you one of the UK’s amazing 5.7m unpaid carers. Not only do you do an incredible job but you save the UK some 162 BILLION POUNDS.
This morning we are looking at the carers who are suddenly being presented with bills for thousands of pounds because over the years they have exceeded the amount they are able to earn by sometimes a matter of pence or a few pounds.
It is a brutal policy facing some of our country’s hardest working and poorest people.
