The Nadler Covent Garden, a new boutique hotel.

On Sunday 17th February  (in the school half term) myself, my husband and our two boys had the pleasure of being invited to stay at boutique hotel, The Nadler Covent Garden, a stone’s throw from Charing Cross train station. The location was absolutely amazing – right in the heart of the now super smart Covent Garden & theatre district.

The building was stunning, a restored Edwardian building with 57 rooms spread over six floors.  The decor was beautiful with deep blues and clay greys alongside metallic touches of brass and copper.  The bespoke furniture within each room is designed and hand made locally by Alter in West London with the fabrics of the cushions and throws being made from natural fibres woven on the Isle of Bute, Scotland.  In addition to this, every room features a special edition Paul Smith Anglepoise lamp! No detail was compromised upon! There was a strong focus on quality British design and craftsmanship. Another bonus was the Mini Kitchen and the hotel’s “fridge fill” service (where you can have a bottle of your choice waiting for you in your Mini Kitchen fridge!).

It is worth mentioning that the hotel does not have a restaurant but they team up with local restaurants and bars, offering discounts so you get to properly experience the immediate area. An excellent idea to experience living like a Londoner.

In addition to the gorgeous decor and surroundings, the hotel was very family focused (unlike some London hotels we have stayed in) and welcomed the boys with open arms. The staff were friendly and attentive and advised us of all the local experiences and places of interest nearby.

We had supper at a very old school theatre restaurant on the Sunday night, enjoyed brunch at Balthazar on Monday and we took the boys to the 4DX cinema experience in Leicester Square which they both loved! We also scootered along the nearby Southbank in the glorious sunshine.  We had a fabulous 24 hour mini break, it was such a treat.

All in all, The Nadler Covent Garden really is a superb hotel set in a fantastic location in the heart of London. The rates are very reasonable too given the size, style and location of the hotel. It is well worth a visit if you are in town on either business or leisure. Thank you so much for having us Nadler, we will certainly be returning in the summer time!
